Annual Reports & Financials
Descriptions of SEC Forms and Filings
Securities & Exchange Commission (EDGAR)
EDGARSCAN by PricewaterhouseCoopers - an interface to the SEC EDGAR system. EdgarScan pulls filings from the SEC's database, parses them automatically to find key financial tables and normalizes financials to a common format that is comparable across companies.
FreeEDGAR - another interface to the SEC EDGAR system allowing full-text searching by industry number, company name, ticker symbol, and key word.
Company financial and annual report information can be found on Lexis Nexis. Once you are in the Lexis Nexis, select "Business." Go to "Company Financial" Select "Disclosure Reports" as a source. The Disclosure reports provide three years of company ratio information. At the "Business" menu you can also select "SEC Filings & Reports." Since most annual reports are lengthy, ordering a copy from the company is a good option.
Older Annual Reports on Microfiche. The Library has a large annual report collection in microfiche called the Q-File Collection. The collection includes reports from 1978 to 1996 and is located in the microform alcove on the west side of Level One. Both 10-K's, annual reports, and proxy statements are included. A paper index (binder & books marked SEC File) is found on top of the microfiche cabinets.
CAFRs (Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports) Selected CAFR's for the following states, cities, and counties are available: California; City of Livermore, CA; County of Kern, CA; and State of Wisconsin.
Annual Reports from Nonprofits
GuideStar, the Donor's Guide to Charities and Nonprofits - Read this first! Type in the words: annual reports in the Charities Search box and click find. A number of charity reports will appear.
