Enrollment Requirements

The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships (OFA&S) considers undergraduate, 2nd BA/BS, and post-baccalaureate Teacher Credential students to be enrolled full-time if they are registered in at least 12 units per quarter and working toward their stated degree objective. Graduate and Doctorate students are considered to be enrolled full-time if they are registered in at least 8 units (which should typically consist of 500 and 600-level coursework) per quarter toward their stated degree objective.*

Undergraduate, 2nd BA/BS, and post-baccalaureate Teacher Credential student enrollment levels per quarter:

Undergraduate, 2nd BA/BS, and Teacher Credential enrollment requirements
Less than half-time 1-5 units
Half-time 6-8 units
Three-quarter time 9-11 units
Full-time 12 or more units

Graduate and Doctorate student enrollment levels per quarter:

Graduate & Doctorate enrollment requirements
Less than half-time 1-3 units
Half-time 4-5 units
Three-quarter time 6-7 units
Full-time 8 or more units*

* Please note: maximum SUG awards require 12 units of enrollment for graduate students
